Emergency

If there was an  Emergency the emergency icon on the upper right of this page would be flashing red, and Emergency information from your building manager would appear in the box below.

400 Poydras Tower is presently monitoring the projected track of Tropical Storm Ida in accordance with the National Hurricane Center.  Ida is expected to be a dangerous major hurricane when it reaches the northern Gulf on Sunday, and the risk of hurricane-force winds continues to increase in metropolitan New Orleans.  Ida is likely to produce heavy rainfall later Sunday into Monday across the central Gulf Coast resulting in considerable flash and urban flooding.  Please visit https://www.nhc.noaa.gov/  for additional information.

400 Poydras Tower will close at 3:00 PM on Saturday, August 28, 2021 and will remain closed until further notice.  All tenant personnel should exit the building by 3:00 PM on Saturday.

We urge you to properly prepare your office for severe weather before you leave today.  Unprepared offices are more vulnerable to property loss, and unprepared offices hinder remediation efforts after the storm passes.

  1. Remove all personal property including paper, files, books, pictures, etc. from window ledges.
  2. Pick up all belongings including paper, files, books, etc. from the floor.
  3. Pick up all papers, files, books, etc. and place inside of a desk or cabinet. Do not leave loose paperwork on the floor or window ledges.
  4. Do not tape windows. Blinds should be pulled up. Close all doors inside your suite.
  5. Unplug all computers, telecommunications equipment, microwaves to protect the equipment from power surges. Cover computers to prevent possible water damage.  Raise computers that are directly on carpeting.
  6. Secure or move any valuables, lock file cabinets and desks, turn off the lights in your office and lock the entrance to your suite.

Updated information will be sent to tenants throughout Ida by email and posted on www.400poydras.com/emergency.  Building reopening information will also be send by email/text through the building’s emergency alert system RapidCast.
